Denominational Links and Information...

First Congregational is a member congregation of the United Church of Christ (UCC).  The UCC is divided into regions known as Conferences.  We are part of the Michigan Conference.  Each Conference is further divided into smaller areas called Associations.  We are part of the Covenant Association. 

The United Church of Christ's God is Still Speaking campaign seeks, in part, to spread the message that we are a church striving to be inclusive of all people.  To this end, in 2004 the campaign launched what turned out to be some very controversial TV commercials.  To see what the fuss was about, the commercials that several networks refused to air, please check out the ads that are affectionately referred to as the Bouncer Ad, the Ejector Ad, and the Steeples Ad.
